Course Overview
This 5-day course prepares experienced small boat sailors to become certified RYA Dinghy Instructors, qualified to teach both adult and youth beginners to an intermediate level.

Eligibility Requirements
To enrol, candidates must complete the following prerequisites before the course start date:
- RYA Dinghy Level 2
- RYA Powerboat Level 2 - (2 day course)
- RYA First Aid Certificate - (1 day course)
- RYA Dinghy Instructor Pre-Entry Sailing Assessment - (1 day course)
- RYA Safe & Fun Safeguarding Certificate - (Online course)
Course Focus
Participants will develop skills to confidently sail and teach in various conditions, handle small powerboats, and instruct RYA levels 1 & 2, Seamanship Skills, and Youth Sailing Scheme Stages 1-4.
Materials and Equipment
Candidates are encouraged to pre-read the RYA National Sailing Scheme Instructor Handbook (G14), available from our centre or the RYA. Wetsuits and buoyancy aids are provided.
