Course Introduction
Our Sailing Week for Beginners is the perfect introduction to sailing for children who are eager to get on the water. With no prior sailing experience required, this week offers a fun and relaxed environment where children can learn essential sailing skills while enjoying the thrill of being on the water in Chichester Harbour.
This course is ideal for those looking to experience sailing for the first time, with plenty of group activities, day sails, and exciting sailing challenges throughout the week.
Course ContentDuring the week, participants will:
- Be introduced to basic sailing skills and techniques.
- Take part in fun, informal day sails throughout Chichester Harbour.
- Engage in group sailing challenges to develop teamwork and confidence.
- Learn about boat handling, sailing terminology, and safety procedures on the water.
- Enjoy a supportive and encouraging environment while building sailing skills.
- Wetsuits, waterproof tops, and buoyancy aids will be provided by the centre.
- Complete a NUCO Mini Medic Course
- No prior sailing experience required.
- If the child is completely new to sailing, we recommend attending a 2-day RYA Youth Stage 1 course before committing to the full week to ensure a smoother transition and fun introduction to sailing.
