RYA Youth Stage 1

Course introduction
The  RYA Youth Stage 1 is the perfect introduction to sailing for young sailors. Over two days, children will learn the basics of sailing, including boat handling, steering, and understanding the key parts of a dinghy. This course is designed to create a fun, safe, and structured learning environment, making it ideal for first-time sailors.

Ability after course
By the end of this course, participants will have a basic understanding of how a boat sails. They will gain hands-on experience in steering and handling a dinghy. This course sets the foundation for further development, with the opportunity for structured, supervised learning on the water.

Certification
At the end of the course, participants will be assessed on the skills they have learned. Those who demonstrate competence will be awarded the RYA Stage 1 certificate. Some participants may take the course more than once to gain further confidence on the water.
