Course introduction
The RYA Youth Stage 3 is the next step in your young sailor’s journey. Over two days, they will improve their rigging, launching, and sailing techniques, gaining the skills needed to sail in any direction confidently. With a focus on theory, boat control, and capsize recovery, this course empowers participants to sail independently. By the end of the course, they will have the ability to consider themselves as true sailors, no longer beginners.

- Developing skills in launching, recovery, and capsize recovery
- Sailing techniques to build confidence across all points of sail

Ability after course
After completing this course, participants will be able to rig and launch their boat, sail across all points of sail, and confidently sail around a triangular course in moderate conditions. They will have gained independence in their sailing ability and improved their understanding of the boat’s mechanics and recovery techniques.
