This one-day course offers a fantastic introduction to powerboating, giving children the confidence and skills to drive a powerboat under the watchful eye of our experienced instructors. Whether it’s their first time on the water or they’re looking to hone their skills, this course is a fun, engaging, and memorable way for young learners to get started on their powerboating journey.

Course Content:

  • Introduction to powerboating and boat handling
  • Learning the basics of boat launch, recovery, and mooring
  • Essential safety procedures and equipment
  • Practical skills including leaving and coming alongside, and man overboard recovery (theory-based)
  • Fun challenges to test new skills and gain confidence on the water
  • Small group, hands-on learning to ensure individual attention and safety

Pre-requisites and Assumed Knowledge:

  • No prior powerboating experience required
  • Suitable for children aged 8 and up
  • A keen interest in the water and a basic level of fitness

Ability After Course:
Upon completion, your child will have a solid understanding of the basics of powerboating. They will be able to safely handle a small powerboat under supervision, including basic maneuvers such as launching, recovering, and securing the boat. This is the perfect stepping stone for those looking to progress to further powerboating qualifications
