RYA Adult Level 3 - Better Sailing

Course introduction
The RYA Adult Level 3 course builds on the foundations laid during Level 1 and Level 2, offering further coaching to consolidate sailing skills and techniques. This course is designed for sailors who are ready to progress beyond the basics and start developing more advanced skills. You'll receive coaching in areas like day sailing and seamanship, ensuring that you are more confident on the water and better prepared for future advanced sailing courses.

Course content

  • Consolidation of skills from Level 1 and Level 2
  • Introduction to advanced sailing techniques
  • Short taster sessions in Day Sailing and Seamanship skills
  • Enhanced boat handling and decision-making skills in varying conditions

Pre-requisites and assumed knowledge

  • Pre-requisite: RYA Adult Level 2
  • Experience: We recommend atleast 20 hours of sailing in the 12 months leading up to your course.

Ability after course
By the end of this course, you will be more confident in your sailing skills, able to sail in more challenging conditions, and prepared to progress onto the advanced modules in the RYA scheme, such as Day Sailing and Seamanship.
