Course Introduction
This comprehensive 1-day course combines Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) with a Certified Forestry (+F) First Aid Module. Participants will earn an RQF Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid and gain specialized knowledge for handling emergencies in forestry and agricultural environments.
Course Content
The course is divided into two parts:
- Part 1 - Emergency First Aid at Work (6 hours):
- Primary survey of the unconscious casualty
- Responsibilities and reporting
- CPR and AED usage
- Minor injuries
- Shock and bleeding
- Burns
- Choking
- Epilepsy
- Part 2 - Certified Forestry (+F) First Aid Course (2 hours):
- Emergency planning and remote medical assistance
- Catastrophic bleeding control
- Crush injuries
- Effects of extreme cold
- Lyme disease
Pre-requisites and Assumed Knowledge
No prior first aid experience is required.
Ability After Course
Upon successful completion, participants will:
- Be qualified as Emergency First Aiders, meeting HSE requirements.
- Be certified to handle first aid in forestry/agricultural settings.
- Hold an RQF Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for 3 years.
